Booking your Practical Driving Test

Once you have passed your theory test you could apply for the practical test. Practical test can be booked online or over the phone using your provisional license number and payment card details. Usually you will be booked in DVLA offices near your place of residence or you could choose your preferred place in the nearest available date and time. Once you have booked your practical you will receive a confirmation letter with place, date and time of your practical test.

About your Practical Driving Test

You should prepare your self very well for your practical test as test will be for 40 minutes and usually starts with an eye test. Officer would ask you to say the number of a car which is parked at a distance from you. Then you will be asked to drive through the traffic, you will be asked to park your car, turn around, you might need to stop your car suddenly.

Officer will decide whether to pass you or not based on how quick and sensibly you are reacting to various situation in the traffic, how good you are in controlling your car for example how you are applying clutch, break, changing gears, you should look out for signals, road markings, sign boards etc and should react to those properly.

It is advisable to take a training course before going for the practical test even if you have driven car and have a valid driving license in your country.
